WOW! We have gathered some amazing insight and vocabulary for our Literacy topic from our trip today! We were all excited on seeing the cave, as I don’t think we were expecting it be so big! We were able to go deep inside the cave and think about what we could see, what we could hear, what we could smell and we could feel. This will really help us when we write our cave description later in the week.

What can you remember about the trip? Can you link it to any of your senses, ready for Literacy?

Wow! For those of you who don’t already know the Y5 children received a delivery last week! During the holidays Max (Mr T’s puppy) dug up some old swords and they were sent off to the Royal Armouries to be investigated.

This week we recevied a parcel and letter from Leeds Royal Armouries and it turns out that the swords Max found are actually daggers! The researchers at the Armouries said that they weren’t willing to send the original relics to us because they needed to study them further, but instead they sent a pair of replica daggers which they created using 3D projection mapping! How cool is that?!

After Mr T had read the letter to us and showed us how to hold the daggers carefully we were given the opportunity to take a further look for ourselves! The daggers were surprisingly light considering how big they are.

What do you think, would any of us make good Norman soldiers?

Class 9 Reminders

Homwork diaries need to be in school EVERY DAY! They need to be signed and in the basket on Monday mornings along with your reading log. Please write in what you have completed at home for example reading, spellings or times tables.

You are expected to read at least 4 times per week. I will be putting up a new display in class and there will be house points for those of you who manage to do (and exceed) this!

Your PE kit should be in school every day. You should have the correct HCPS house colour Tshirt and shorts. Jogging bottoms are fine for outdoor PE but are not appropriate for indoor gymnastics and apparatus sessions.

You have a log on for spelling shed. Please try and log on to complete the sessions. Your sheets are for you to practise on every week. You do not have to return them but you are expected to practise them daily.
