WALT: create a short animation

WILF:

Achieve: I can create a short animation. (Level 1)

Challenge: I can plan my animation using a comics strip. (Level 2)

Aspire: I can export my animation and import it into iMovie (level 3)

Where were you working today?

Some examples of our finished animations. We did them independently and have thought about how we would improve them. We have discussed that it would be useful to have an iPad stand for animations….I wonder if Wallace and Gromit could invent us one?

Mylo

I was working in challenge because I used a comic strip to plan my animation. In my animation the characters were Wallace and Gromit and they were inventing a sweet clipper. My favourite part of this morning was taking the photos for our animation.

Well done Mylo, just remember to use the onion skin feature next time to stop your characters jumping around when you move the iPad! 🙂

Jack

I was working in challenge but my next step would be aspire. I am learning how to export my animation out of the iMotion app. I really enjoyed creating the story on my plan I think I have worked well as a team. How would my team add a bit more story to it?

If you wanted to extend your story Jack you would need to record the extra part in imotionHD and then import both parts into iMovie. You can use iMovie to edit the animation, add a title and a credit screen. It was easy to export it out of imotionHD, can you remember what import means?

Alexander

I have been working towrards challenge. I have planned my story with my group Jack and Alina. In our story Wallace and Gromit make a mine-o-matic. A mine-o-matic drills mines into the ground. I really enjoyed making the props for our animation.

Daisy

I learnt how to export my animation and save it on the camera roll. My favourite part was putting the video toghther. I would inprove my vidoe by keeping the other caricterts out of the way.

I really enjoyed making the animation next time I would make sure my arm isnt in the way of the photos. I was working in challenge because I used a comic strip to plan my animation.

Billy

I really liked what we were doing because we got to make up our own story. We had to think of a problem and Wallace and Gromit invented a machine to help with that problem. We used iMotionHD to make our animation it was hard because we struggled to keep the iPad still.
