Lego Challenge

By 14

Today we have completed a Lego challenge in school. We used Lego bricks to build our own models, we really enjoyed this part.

Then we found a partner and had to use our communication skills to describe our models. Our partner had to try and create a picture of the model based on our descriptions.

I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to every single pupil for all the hard work you have put in. To say thanks to all the members of staff who have supported the SATs process in school. Finally I would like to say a massive thank you to parents for all their help and support both in the run up to and throughout SATS week, we couldn’t have done it without you!

Have a well earned rest tonight!!!

Smaug in action

By 7

Over the last two afternoons we have been working with our Smaug masks to create freeze frames and some short action sections. We discussed and came up with ideas for how our dragons would move, how they would hunt and how they would react in a range of situations.

We then came up with a short action scene and a freeze frame to show how our dragon would react when meeting another dragon.

What do you think to our freeze frames? What do they tell you about how the characters interacted?

Today we have celebrated St George’s Day in school.

We have learnt about who St George was and why he is the patron saint of England. We learnt about the legend surrounding St George. Then we completed speech bubbles show how George and the dragon were feeling at different points in the story.

Next we wrote acrostic poems about St George.

Tomorrow morning we will be making paper roses to complete our celebrations.
