As you may already be aware BMBC are proposing to make changes to Barnsley Children’s Centres.
The proposals include possibly reducing the number of Children’s Centres, changing them to Family Centres by widening the age range from 0-5 to 0-25, making services more targeted and reducing the amount of daycare offered.
Phase 1 of the public consultation regarding the proposed changes to Barnsley Children’s Centres starts tomorrow and ends on the 27th March.
At this stage BMBC are consulting only about the proposed move to Family Centres and the reduction in day care services. The second stage of the consultation, stating in May will outline the proposed model and will detail the impact on individual Centres.
We have been asked to encourage as many governors, staff members, partner agencies, families and members of the wider community to complete the consultation survey.
Below is the link to the relevant documents, the survey will be available to complete from tomorrow. We also have paper copies in Centre.
We would be grateful if you could complete the survey and encourage parents and other members of the community to so.
Thank you for your support,
The Children’s Centre staff team
