During Arts Week Ricky Carrington kindly gave up some of his time time and came in to do some photography with ks2. Here is a link to his blog where he has published some of the photographs taken by the children.
What a fantastic week we have had at HCPS! I couldn’t quite believe the quantity and quality of work on display throughout this afternoon. It wouldn’t have been possible without the planning and organisation of the arts team, the great work of visitors and artists to the school and not forgetting the wonderful children for taking part and enjoying every minute.
A big thank you to all the parents for visiting this afternoon and taking the time to appreciate the work produced throughout the whole school, the children have loved it and so have I.
What a week!!
It has been absolutely amazing to see all the children at HCPS participating in all the exciting activities from this years Arts Week.
A massive thank you to all the parents and special visitors who made it to the showcase this afternoon, the children really loved having the opportunity to share their work with you all.
Thank you to all the artists who made this week possible and thank you to parents for your continued support.
What a fantastic arts week! It was amazing to see so many children expressing their creative sides through art, music, sculpture and dance. A big thank you to those involved in the delivery and organisation. We have had some brilliant comments from the artist involved on just how amazing HCPS children are and I would tend to agree! Also a big thank you to all the parents who came along to the arts week showcase, it was a great way to finish such a successful week. Please do look and make comments on the range of art work on the blog. Another great week at HCPS.
We have spent the week looking at and thinking about features of our local area. We have talked about what we like and created some amazing art work to show our local area off!
I wonder is everyone’s local area the same?
What has been your favourite part of arts week and why?
It has been a great week of the arts and the class and I are looking forward to sharing what we’ve done with all who venture into school tomorrow. Just to wet your appetites here’s a little preview of what Y3/4H have been upto…
Monday – Dance with Louise Wilkes, putting the moves to a Hoyland Hop. Followed by a 2014 calendar competition with the task of depicting Lowe Stand in a month of the year.
Tuesday/Wednesday – Trips to Cannon Hall for work on oriental inspired music, drawing and origami. And in school the introduction to the tale of the Wantley Dragon that led to groups using collage to create their own representations.
Thursday – Story Dramas in the schools very own amphitheatre, bringing to life the tale of the Wantley Dragon. Also a fantastic visit from the Worsbrough Brass Band allowing all to participate and experience a wide range of brass and percussion instruments.
A shame such a great week has to come to an end but also looking forward to what the last day will bring. Hope these few pics showing such a small part of what these fab kids have been getting up to inspires you to come along and see more.
Thanks HCPS arts team for putting on this brilliant week of learning, skills and experience building and some great fun.
