I don’t know about the rest of you Y5’s but I had a fantastic day at Cannon Hall today!
Creating our own piece of music was amazing!
Then we worked on a Chinese style picture which we turned into a paper boat!
All of our work from today will be on display in Cannon Hall throughout the summer. It would be great if you could take your parents to see the display.
What did you learn today? What did you enjoy?
What a wonderful day out at Cannon Hall. Today we added the finishing touches to the collaboration between Cannon Hall and Hoyland Common Primary. This will be on show in Cannon Hall throughout the Summer. We produced some art and used this to create a paper boat. In the second session we created a piece of music to be used as part of a soundscape to accompany the artwork. A great day was had by all!
The Dragon of Wantley (Wortley) is England’s most famous dragon legend; in the form of a highly popular somewhat bawdy ballad about a knight, More of More Hall, called upon to slay a dragon preying on children and cattle.
We read the ballad, planned and created our own dragon from the description in the first verse.
We worked together in small groups and have nearly finished each individual dragon.
Come along on Friday at 2:30 and see the completed collages!
We have retold the story of the dragon of warncliffe crags and are ready to hunt out dragons! We have lots of activities planned including a photography session with Mrs Hewitt! Exciting stuff 🙂
Taking perspective photographs!
And some fun!
We’ve been really busy creating our own dragon models. We’ve used lots of different materials to create different textures on our models. Can you spot what we’ve used?
