Book day

In preparation for World Book Day I would like you to think about your favourite books and favourite authors! Take a photo of your favourite book and upload it to this post with a comment to say what you like about it. Would you tell a friend to read it? Which is your favourite character? Anyone who uploads a picture and sentence gets a prize when they come back to school, that includes mums and dads, grandmas and grandads and anyone else who would like to be involved! Let’s see if we can get a whole book shop uploaded onto this post!

I love ‘Aliens Love Underpants’. Have you read ‘Aliens Love Panta Claus’ or ‘Dinosaurs Love Underpants’? They are really good too! My favourite book when I was at primary school was ‘Princess Smartypants’. I loved this book because Princess Smartypants likes to cause trouble and makes lots of mess!!

I like Jack and the flum flum tree because there’s a boy called Jack and they sale to a place called blowyernose to find the flum flum tree to make his granny better. It is funny.

I am a real bookworm and some of my favourite children’s books were by Enid Blyton. She caters for all ages, the Faraway series and Wishing Chair series are great for younger children with the Famous Five and Malory Towers great for older children.

However my all time favourite childhood book is Goodnight Mr Tom. It’s an amazing story that’s tells of wartime Britain and the friendship of a young evacuee and an old man. I cry everytime I read it.

My favourite book is Mr. Gum and the Biscuit Billionare. It is a great book and every time I read it, it makes me laugh. I would recommend it to anyone who has a passion for reading. My favourite author is Andy Stanton, the man who wrote Mr. Gum and the Biscuit Billionare. The books by him I have read make me laugh all the time and I can’t resist reading them again and again and again.

These are some of my favourite books when I was a girl.
My favourite book was The owl who was afraid of the dark. It still makes me smile when I think of plop and his knackerty knees!
I loved Enid Blyton, Mrs Pepperpot, Milly Molly Mandy, all ladybird and Noggin the Nog.
Books are so much more colourful now.
Reading to Erin stories that I loved makes it even more magical.

It looks like Enid Blyton is a popular choice! My dad used to read me famous five stories. I remember having Each Peach Pear Plum and Peepo as a baby and they were books I bought for Billy very early on! It’s lovely to hear about favourite stories but also those children share with mums and dads as bedtime stories are such an important and special part of learning to read.

I have saved a lot of my books when I was younger for my children.
So Erin is going to have a lot to read when she gets a bit older! She also has a lot of new ones!
I loved bedtime stories with my mum and dad. Looking back it was a special part of my childhood.
I hope we pass that special part onto Erin.

My favourite book is Winnie the Witch by Valerie Thomas and Korky Paul. Winnie has got a black cat called wilber. When wilber sat on the black chair with his eyes open Winnie could see him. But when Wilber closed his eyes she could not see him so she sat on him. And then she turend him into an a nother couler.

My favourite book of all time is the Lion, the Witch and C.S Lewis. The book is about four children who were evacuated fron London during World War 2. They go to stay in a old house where they find a wardobe that leads then to a land that is full of magical creatures and where the white whitch has cast a spell to make it winter forever. The children fight the witch with the help of Aslan and turn the land back to spring. I’ve read the book lots of times and love how the words create vivid images in my mind. The characters are used to show good and evil. I first read the book over 30 years ago, but it is still my favourite.

My favourite book is To Kill A Mockingbird. This is a timeless classic; the story never loses its appeal or it’s meaning. I hope that my daughters will read this book when they are older and love it too!

My favourite book is Room on the Broom because when the dragon comes to eat the witch, all of the animals pull together and make a mud monster to frighten him off. The dragon then drops the witch and leaves. The good thing is that the witch helped them by giving them a ride on her broomstick, then they helped her when she needed it.

When I'm not at work I'm looking after my crazy children, Billy who is 12 and Lottie who is 6.
