Rising to the occasion

This week we have been working on a secret mission for Wallace and Gromit! We were sent a letter asking us to help them with their latest creation! The Bread-o-matic is top secret and we have been lucky to play an important part in it’s creation.

We have learnt about how bread is made on a industrial scale and then used our knowledge to help us write an explanation to order the process. This will help Wallace and Gromit in their planning stage!

We have explored the ingredients needed to make bread and used adjectives to help us describe them. We have tasted and range of different breads and thought about how we could describe them to make them sound exciting! After exploring we even made our own bread!

The learning this week has been amazing and there has been a real buzz around year 2. I hope Wallace and Gromit appreciate the work we have all done!

Wow Year 2 we have been watching you all week through our spy-o-matic and are very impressed! We can’t believe you have found out so much and can not wait to read your explanations tonight. We will start our designs, using your information right after we’ve had some cheese!

We were wondering if you could design a poster to advertise our new invention? The Bread-o-matic will be available to buy from July, we just need to persuade people its a good idea!

There are lots of kind of bread like warburtons, white bread, seed bread and brown bread. It is made with flour, salt, water, vegetable fat and yeast. I liked making bread it was really cool!!!!

I really enjoyed making bread, it was really fun. When I went in the staff room and I tasted all the different kinds of bread I liked all of the different kinds of bread except the cheese bread because I don’t like cheese and there was some French bread and I smelt the French bread and it smelt like cornflakes .I enjoyed the bread that I made in the staff room and I enjoyed eating the bread that I made and I enjoyed eating the bread from the bread maker and I had butter on the piece that I had from the bread maker.

I enjoyd beying in school when we was lirning about bread. I liked my bread so much that i sherd it with my familiy… and they seaid it was delichies.
My best bit was doing P.E, i liked being the mashiyns makiing the bread, it was fun.
