We had a box delivered today. It had a message inside it from the Time Team, the history team from the TV. They had sent us some artefacts from an archeological dig. Our task was to explore them and find out how life was different for people back then.
Can you explain what an artefact is? What did you find out?
I think the large fork is a back scratcher or it could be for eating with?
You could be right Mikey. It looks as if it would make a very satisfying back scratcher. I thought it might be a toasting fork for toasting bread in front of a fire. The long handle would stop you burning your hand maybe.
The horn might be for a reindeer’s horn and the bottle might be for drinking out off of

I found out that the horse shoe was something to do with a horse, but I have not figured it out yet. I thought the tools were something to do with the horse.
I think the jar was to fetch water in.
I thought the pennies were very old and rusty. You cant use them in our shops today or any other day.
