Today we have been learning about verbs. We learnt that a verb is a doing word. We talked about adding ing to a verb can you remember the rules? We watched a fireworks video and chose effective verbs to describe how the fireworks moved.
Can you remember some of the verbs you used? Try putting them into a sentence to describe the fireworks movements.

You take off the e and put on ing.
The fireworks were bursting through the dark sky. They were flashing and banging and sparkling. The fountains my dad set off were also screeching. We celebrate bonfire night because Guy Fawkes tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament in London.

It might shoot up into the air, it could zoom or whizz.
The fireworks were sprinkling, exploding and shooting in the air.

SPARKLERS twinkle and shine like a shooting star.
ROCKETS shoot up in the air like they are getting chased or catapulted.
The fireworks danced in the dark misty sky.
Fireworks like flying saucers floating in thin air.
The colorful flowers shoot up rapidly as they stop like their waiting for a bus.
The sparklers twinkle and crack in your hand like a timer.

Fire workes sparkle and sparklers sparkle too but you have to wear gloves so you don’t get burned.
