This week in Class 10 maths we have been revising some skills in preparation for our spring assessments. One skill which we enjoyed revisiting was learning how to calculate the area of compound shapes. Some of us were calculating the area of compound shapes involving two quadrilaterals whilst others were calculating the area of compound shapes involving a rectangle and a quadrilateral. Once we had proven to Mr T that we were area masters he set us a new task (an incredibly challenging one!). We had to investigate the area of compound shapes, he gave us the total area of some shapes and we had to investigate the possible measurements for them. This task required us to have a lot of resilience within our learning but by the end of the lesson we had all become Area Masters!
