Snow Day & World Book Day

Hi class 8! Mrs Huckstepp here, reporting from a very SNOWY Sheffield. How’s the weather where you live? I’m interested to know what you are up to today? Are you exploring? Indoors or outdoors? Are you reading anything? After all, it is world book day! I’m reading Why The Whales Came- Micheal Murpurgo. It’s getting exciting!

Haha! I recognise that place I think Rory! You’re very close to school tbere, be careful, we may open the doors and ask you to come in to do some work haha! Hope you’re having a wonderful snow day! Which chapter of the creakers are you on? I like that book!

I’ve been at the park today and we had a snowball fight!! I slipped over and made snow angels and it was very cold. My mums fingers went numb. I have nearly finished Treasure Island I’m excited to read the last chapter later.

I also visited the park today with ralph! His fur turned in to HUGE SNOWBALLS! It looks like you’re having so much fun Oliver. What do you think to treasure island? Would you recommend it to a friend?

Treasure Island was an exciting story I would recommend it. I spent the weekend in Whitby and I visited the Abbey the picture is of me in Dracula’s grave I don’t think he was very big.

I’ve done lots of snowy walking over the last few days! I love making new tracks in the snow, trying to find places where no one has walked yet! Doesn’t look like I’ll be getting my car out any time soon! ❄️

Year 2/3 Teacher & Writing Lead

I'm Miss Huckstepp. I absolutely love teaching and being there for the children of Hoyland Common Primary school. I am a passionate teacher who enjoys getting to know my pupils and their families. I love working alongside children and parents to bring out the best in all pupils. When I'm not teaching, I am usually spending time with my daughter, Pip, who is 3. I am a very family orientated person and I love to spend my time with my parents, sibling, grandparents, cousins and my huge extended family and friends on weekends. I particularly love camper vans and paddleboarding and will escape in my VW, with my board whenever possible!
