Year 6 came back after a Christmas to discover that some mysterious and magical owl post had been delivered.
Personally addressed to each one of us, it read:
Dear _______________________,
We are pleased to inform you of your enrolment on to the course – Magical Monster Mythology – run by HCPS in collaboration with Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
After recent palaeontological discoveries within your school’s grounds, it has been decided that the year 6 pupils will be perfectly situated to lead the research in to these extraordinary new creatures. Especially, considering the scientific skills that your teachers reported were developed in your Evolution lessons last term.
As part of your studies on the course, you will expand your knowledge of the zoology of a wide range of magical monsters and the mythology surrounding them. This will develop a wide range of skills in preparation to create a web page for sharing your own original fantastic beast with the wizarding world.
The course will commence on January 8th. We await your findings with eager anticipation.
Yours Sincerely,
Newton A. F. Scamander
Head of Fantastic Beast Studies
We decided (as sensible wizards and witches) that we must first assign a wand to protect us from the possibly evil powers that may be omitted from the discoveries.
Which wand has CHOSEN YOU, Year 6?
Kayte
Pros and cons of my wand:
Flexibility of my wand is stiff so I don’t think that is the match for me at all. I’ll probily drop it then it will snap.😢
The wood of my wand is spruce probably one of the most commen. However I quite like the colour of the wood
The core is unicorn hair I don’t think that represents me that much but it is the most consistent core, so that’s a bonus.
The length is 10 3/4 inches or 27 cm. Which is a great size for my big hands. The width is 1.3cm and then at the end it goes into 0.5cm. The grip is 5cm long a bit small for my hand but I can’t let it take up to much room.
That is the pros and cons of my wand!
