Well it has certainly been a long but enjoyable term at Hoyland Common Primary School. The year kicked off with lost treasure, archaeological digs and a found rucksack and by the end of the term there was a HCPS court hearing, a Egyptian museum and we’ve found out all about David the explorer and his adventures. Thrown in on top of all this there have been endless visits and trips, clubs and sporting events, family activities and fantastic Christmas performances.

It is with pleasure I can say that all your and our hard work in relation to attendance has paid off, this terms attendance is 97.2%, which is an absolutely fantastic effort, let’s keep it up next term. Even more pleasing is the fact that there are over 120 children who have still have 100% attendance, well done to you all!

Even in the final week of term we have continued working hard in literacy and numeracy but let our hair down with Christmas parties for all year groups throughout the week and had a fantastic Christmas dinner on Thursday. Stars of the week for the final week have been chosen for a range of brilliant reasons, including, much improved attendance, for continued hard work, effort and a fantastic attitude in everything! Excellent effort in Science, and working hard in literacy, another huge well done to you all!

At the end of the term I would like to say a few thank you’s, firstly to the pupils of Hoyland Common Primary School, for as ever trying and working incredibly hard and showing fantastic attitudes towards their learning, secondly to all you parents for continuing to support your children and the school with the work you do with them at home and attending in such number at the events we hold. Finally to all the staff at Hoyland Common Primary School for their continued commitment and hard work. The current Ofsted framework is undoubtedly and rightly so the most challenging framework by a significant amount, and they have without out a doubt taken up the challenge to ensure the school continues to uphold its high standards and expectation, so thank you and well done. By all parties working together it can only result in a better and better education for the children who attend the School.

As ever if you do have any worries, concerns or even compliments please do not hesitate to contact me. To end I would like to wish you all the best for Christmas and New Year from Hoyland Common Primary School and here’s hoping I get a coat for Christmas! Looking forward to seeing you all on January 6th, enjoy the holidays!
