Wow – What a fantastic fun filled four day week!

Year 2 and Year 6 have made excellent preparations for their upcoming SATs tests and I am amazed by the confidence and positive attitudes they have displayed this year. I am sure you will all do yourselves proud. Y6 pupils got a taste of what it would be like next week by completing their final mock reading test in the hall. The staff were amazed at the level of commitment by all pupils!

We have welcomed some unusual visitors into Y2 this week. As part of their new topic, pupils have managed to get up close and personal with some exotic (and slightly strange!) creatures including; a tree frog, a horn snake, a giant millipede and a pretty mean looking tarantula! ZooLab fed back as they left how well behaved and enthusiastic all the children are, again highlighting the excellent manners our children have.

It has been great to see Y1 pupils putting their IT skills to good effect, by creating robot presentations, while Y3/4 pupils have been using their drama skills as part of the ‘Robin Hood’ topic.

Children as ever were selected for ‘stars of the week’; I am pleased to see so many children being given stars for their efforts right across school. Teachers have made comments about fantastic attitudes to learning, for collaborating and sharing ideas, and for improvements in writing and maths.

Attendance this week has once again been positive at 98%.  Once again, thank you for your continued efforts in getting children into school, I cannot emphasise just how much of a difference positive attendance has on children’s progress. As ever, if there is anything you wish to discuss about your child and their education please do not hesitate to contact myself or any member of staff in school.
