Today we visited Magna to learn all about forces. We explored all of the areas at Magna and then we had a workshop all about making hot air balloons and rockets. Can you remember what the force that made the balloon go up was called? What is the force that pulls things back down?

I really enjoyed the workshop and seeing all the different ways which we can use forces to make objects move.
The water pavilion was my favourite part – even though most of you looked as though you had had a bath in it!

I liked that too Dylan. It was really spectacular when the flame swirled around.
I loved Magna because the water was cool and the fire was hot. The force that makes hot air balloons come back down is called gravity. When we went in the water it was fun because Dylan made me laugh because it looked like he’d had a bath.

The man at Magna called it “up thrust” but you’re right when the balloon rises it is buoyant.
The force that makes things fall back to the ground is gravity. Thrust is the force that makes the balloon go up.
That looks really fun I wishing went but I’m a year4!
