Today we have been designing experiments to investigate speed and direction. We used wooden blocks, ramps and toy cars. Can you remember how we made sure the test was a fair test? What was the force that slowed the car down? What happened when we made the ramp steeper?

Hello Mrs Harrison I have something to tell you.
When the carpet is rough and bumpy the car went slow because it has got more friction.
When the floor is smooth and flat the cars went faster because it has got less friction.
We made sure it was fair by putting the ramps on the same floor.

To make it fair we used two cars the same, the force that makes them slow down is called friction, the Higher it got the faster the cars went. Today our rockets went high up in the air, we mixed vinegar and baking soda together to cause a reaction called thrust, it was fun.
