Well it has been week of all extremes at Hoyland Common Primary School this week, not even the snow deterred the learning and fun. The year one pupils had a great day in an inflatable star dome that was set up in the hall on Thursday and learnt so much about the universe around us. It was that amazing we managed to get almost everyone in school time to spend a few minutes to explore the stars! Last night our fabulous singers took part in Young Voices at Sheffield Arena and as always they were an absolute credit to the school, all their perseverance and effort paid off and they thoroughly enjoyed the event and I am sure they all want to thank Miss Hayward for all her hard work arranging it. Y5/6 pupils managed to even bring the snow into their learning about ‘Middle Earth’ and build some snow shelters outside, I’m not sure who enjoyed it most the pupils or Mr Fallon and Mr Hastey.

Stars of the week this week once again gave that little something extra to be chosen to dine with the star, this week pupils were selected for; working really hard in maths, for having an excellent attitude towards learning, and for an amazing performance at young voices to name but a few. Hope you enjoyed you ‘Dining with the Stars’ experience.

As ever if there is anything you wish to discuss about your child’s education, please do not hesitate to contact me or one of the HCPS team.
