Today Debs from Eggucation came in to check on our eggs. They have been in the incubator for a week now and Debs wanted to check the chicks were growing inside them. Debs brought a special light so we could ‘candle’ the eggs, the light shone through the shell and we could see the chick beginning to grow inside!
It was amazing and I can’t wait to see the chics

We’ll be keeping an eye on them Anabelle so fingers crossed that they hatch in school time and not at night.
I wish i could of seen the chicks hatch. i can remember when i held the chicks in year 2.It looks good.
They’ve not hatched yet Imogen. Another 9 days to go! You’ll have to come down and see them when they do hatch.
I enjoyd looking at the red spiders moving inside the egg. The spider was croaling in the egg. I can’t wate to see the baby chikens hach.
Was it really a red spider inside the egg Harrison? Debs told us it was the veins in the tiny chick that we could see and that they would keep growing until the chick was ready to hatch. They looked just like the veins in our bodies.

You’re right Harrison and I bet the eggs will look very different inside now. Soon be hatching time, we’ll have to keep a close eye on them on Tuesday and look out for cracks and listen for cheepiing.
It was really interesting and I really enjoyed it.
