It has been a fantastic but busy final week of the half term. Children from Years 1 to 5 have worked incredibly hard with their assessments and I am sure the results will show the great progress they deserve. Y6 pupils have started rehearsals for their end of year performance which I am sure will be as brilliant as ever.

In other news children from Y5/6 enjoyed their archery session on Thursday afternoon whilst Y3/4 pupils have continued with their fencing sessions. Also watch out for our Y2 scary toy movies that they have been creating. Today is a whole school puzzle day organised by “The Happy Puzzle Company” children right across school are completing a range of maths, logics and picture based problems.

Stars of the week this week have been selected for a variety of reasons, including fantastic efforts during assessment week, for their work on the ipads and for having an excellent attitude towards learning. Well done to you all and enjoy dining with Mrs Wood.

Attendance this week has been 95.8%, let’s try and continue to keep attendance as high as possible for the final term.

And finally Mrs Joyce is leaving school this week after 22 years at Hoyland Common Primary School. I am sure you will all join us in wishing her all the best in her new job.

As ever if you wish to discuss anything about your child’s education please do not hesitate to contact me or one of the team at Hoyland Common Primary School.
