Today we received a parcel from Hans, it had a letter inside and a bag of water! We worked out that Hans had sent us a chunk of an iceberg all the way from Antartica but it had melted on its long journey to us. We put the iceberg water in the freezer it froze back into ice. Ice is a solid that melts into a liquid you can freeze it back into a solid, this is a reversible change.

Hello miss Harrison I wonder when the surprise gift will come to our school. That one on the right is what we got it out of the school freezer that one on the left is what Hans sent us but it melted but we put it into the school freezer and at the end of the day it froze back into some ice it is called a reversible change it means something can change back like the water what Hans sent us. Hans sent us Antarctica water and unfortunately it melted along the way.Now we know that solid can turn into a liquid . The hardest way to do this is… freezing the water because it’s really hard to be patient and it’s hard to wait really long . I really enjoyed looking at reversible change of water.
A irreversible change means you cant change something back so if we boiled a egg we cant change it back into a normle egg it is a irreversible change.

If you cut a roast chicken you can not put it back together again so it is a irreversible change.
If you burn wood, it will turn into ash and you can’t turn ash into wood again so it is an irreversible change.

When you warm butter up it melts and goes all oily. If you cool it down in the fridge it will go back to butter.
Chocolate is a solid. If you warm it up it will melt. If you leave it it will set back again.
