Armed with old photos of Hoyland in the past, Year 3 and Year 4 have walked into Hoyland to discover what has changed. We found some buildings from 1800s and early 1900s which are still there today. Most of the shops have changed uses. We also met some lovely locals who helped us by telling us what Hoyland was like when they were younger. We found out why The Princess Theatre was known as The Kino before it became Family Shopper. We know that Dickinsons Decorators used to be the first Co-op and the marble slab for cheese is still there. We were polite and courteous to everyone we met and we were told we were impeccably behaved.
