It has been another busy but fantastic week at Hoyland Common Primary School. The Y5 pupils have tackled all types of weather to complete their bikeability training to ensure they are safe cyclists out on the roads. Y5/6 pupils are visiting the Galleries of Justice in Nottingham today as part of their CSI project and will be taking part in a Victorian Trial. Also today the Y3/4 football team are playing West Meadows this afternoon! Good luck!

This week has also been anti bullying week and children have been learning about how destructive bullying can be, the different forms of bullying and how as a school we combat bullying and have an anti-bullying culture. Please do look at the 2 amazing and powerful videos that Mr Tallant’s class have made on his class blog page.

In other news it was also the school staff’s time to learn and on Thursday evening everyone completed their First Aid refresher training.

Stars of the week were again selected for a fantastic range of different reasons including having a fantastic attitude towards all aspects of school, improvements in phonics and reading, for a fabulous effort in maths and for some brilliant sentence work to name but a few, well done to you all and keep up the hard work and enjoy dining with the stars.

This week’s attendance has been very positive and many children are still on for 100% attendance during Novembers attendance awareness month, make sure you keep an eye out for attendance advent starting at the beginning of December. Just a reminder for your diaries it is parents evening on the 8th and 9th of December.
As ever if there is anything you wish to discuss about your child’s education please do not hesitate to contact one of the HCPS team.
