It has been a fantastic term at Hoyland Common Primary School and September does seem like a long time ago and lots of fantastic learning has taken place. The children have thoroughly enjoyed the topics and teachers are busy planning exciting new topics for the new term. This week has been incredibly fun all round from Christmas Parties, Christmas Dinner, PJ Parties and Elf viewings… a huge thank you to Carillion for providing our wonderful Christmas Dinner on Thursday.
Today has been the end of term celebration assembly. It was brilliant to see so many children collecting awards for house points, sports, attendance and a whole variety of other wonderful reasons. The final weeks stars of the week were selected for an array of different reasons including being kind and helpful to others, excellent effort in literacy and numeracy, for always trying your best and for been trustworthy and reliable. Well done to you all, I hope you enjoyed dining with the stars.
The attendance for the term has been 96.6% and well done to Mrs Harrison’s class for 8 weeks of 100% attendance. There were 165 children who have had 100% attendance for the whole term. A fantastic effort on attendance all round! Well done.
A big thank you to all those people who have donated to the Salvation Army food banks, you’re generosity has been overwhelming and I am sure the people in receipt of those donations will be extremely grateful. So to wrap up on what has been a great first term of the year from all of us here at Hoyland Common Primary School we wish you a very merry Christmas and look forward to seeing you all in the new year.
