What a fantastic start to the new year and a new term.

There have been lots of exciting activities this week as all classes have begun their new topics. I can’t wait to find out more about castles and dragons, super heroes and tales of witchcraft and wizardry. I am sure that Year 3/4 are enjoying finding out about the astronaut Tim Peake’s mission to the International Space Station. Friday’s visit to the National Space Centre coincides with Tim’s first space walk, which I am sure will be an interesting day for all!. In Foundation Stage this week, I have heard and seen at first hand some fantastic reading and writing. We definitely have some young authors in the making.

Stars this week have been chosen for; ‘enthusiastic starts to the new year’, ‘being helpful in class’, fantastic effort in writing’ and ‘effort in maths’. Well done to all! Our attendance this week is above target 96.6% – again a fantastic example of how pupils and parents care about school. As always, if you have any issues or concerns about your child in school, please feel free to contact me.

Best wishes for the new term.
