It’s the final week of the half term and what a busy week it has been throughout school – with today being no exception – children have swapped teachers for the day and are busying themselves undertaking topic related Art Work.

FS are creating a wonderful collage of the world linking into their topic “Colours of the World” and are being assisted by Miss Harston and Miss Griffin.

Year 1 are making amazing Super Hero backdrops and props as well as an array of “WOW”, “Kapow” and other superhero themed wording call outs. Mr Clare and Miss Lloyd have the pleasure of working alongside Year 1 today!

Year 2 are getting creative with Mr Tallant and Mr Hastey and using plaster of paris and craft wire to create armour suitable for a knight! I can’t wait to see the end result!

Meanwhile Year 3 and 4 have support from Miss Till, Miss Wilde and Miss Crossley and are recreating the solar system as we know it. Large planets are being prepared using a whole array of medium, including would you believe Weetabix in one classroom!

And finally Year 5 and 6 are all about Harry Potter and Mrs Brusby, Mrs Bramall and Miss Crookes are facilitating the creation of Crests and Team banners for each of the 4 Harry Potter Houses – Ravenclaw, Slytherin, Hufflepuff and Griffindor.

I hope that parents will be able to make the showcase of today’s creativity from 2.50pm onwards.

Attendance this week has again been extremely positive and there will be further attendance awareness incentives upcoming in the next half term.

Again, as always, if you do have any queries, concerns and of course positives to report, please do not hesitate to contact either myself or a member of the HCPS Team who will be more than happy to help.
I wish you all a pleasant half term break and look forward to seeing you all in a weeks’ time.
