The penultimate week of term has seen a plethora of activities throughout school. The highlight of which was for sure the “Out of this World” production by Year 3 and 4 on Thursday showcasing all that they have learnt during the past weeks about the astronaut Tim Peake. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house when the children delivered their “Last Words of…….” A huge thanks to the children in Year 3 and 4 and the staff for the time they put into polishing their performance.
We also saw the birth of our very first chick on Thursday – as yet unnamed and hopefully we will see the others hatching today, if not over the weekend.
Easter came early in KS1 with the Parent Maths Event on Wednesday – it was fantastic to see how many parents and grandparents were able to attend and it was lovely to see the children engaged in lots of different maths challenges with their families.
Today out Year 6 Children are going to Tankersley to showcase their dance routine alongside children from surrounding schools! Let’s hope they bring back the trophy this year.
I’d also like to thank Parents who attended parent’s evenings on Tuesday and Wednesday night. I had some amazing feedback from parents and it was fantastic to be able to share children’s learning and outcomes.
Stars of the week have been selected for a variety of reasons – namely their attitudes to learning and also showing maturity beyond their years. It’s always wonderful to see the list of reasons children have been chosen each week and be able to celebrate with them.
Attendance this week has been very good – 97.5% and we also have 3 classes who have achieved 100% – Class 1, 3 and 5. Class 5 have also achieved the Gold Award so Miss O’Neill will be looking for some extra special awards for them!
