Today we visited the Town Hall to meet the Mayor of Barnsley.
We grilled him in the Council Chamber and found out lots about democracy in local government.
Councillor Ennis was a great host and all the children got a chance to ask him a question just like at a full council meeting.
If you have any questions about the Mayor and the Town Hall we would love to try and answer them after our informative visit this morning.
Meeting the mayor was so much fun. He was funnny and he enjoyed meeting us. My favourite part of the trip was seeing the projector inside the council Chamber and asking questions and finding out the answers.
I enjoyed meeting with the Mayor, Jeff Ennis. We explored around the Town Hall and asked him questions in the Council Chamber.
It was so cool being at the town hall and meeting the mayor in person because I have never got chance to meet the mayor. Going to meet the mayor at the town hall is the best trip ever.

The best part was when we got to sit in the Parlar and when we got to
use the microphone and ask my question.I asked how many female
mayors have there been? Answer 9. I didn’t want to leave.😥👍
The funniest part was when he said at parliament someone was talking for 18 hours.

I thought that it was very fun meeting Jeff Ennis. When we went in to the councillor chambor we all stud up and read a question and he answered us. Then we went into a other room were you could read out more than one question out. Then as we was going home we got a book mark and a book all about the town hall. We had a fabulous day.
I had lots of fun when I went to the Town Hall.
I think the best part was when we took a picture on the stairs and he gave us a tour around the Town Hall.
It was epic seeing the Mayor for the first time😂👍👍

I loved going to the Barnsley Town Hall with Mr Rob and Miss Eyre and meeting the mayor Jeff Ennis .My brother got really jealous of me . My favourite part was seeing the mace and going in the council Chamber and asking BIG questions in to microphones. He even says councillor and then your last name. It was awesome.
I really enjoyed meeting counsler Jeff Ennis. I loved looking at all the past mayors whose photos were up on the walls . At home I read throu th book we got and once I had read I put my book Mark inside. My favourite part was when we went in the councler chamber where we each read ont one of our questions but before we turned on a special microphone. It was one of the best school trips ever. I loved it!
I really enjoyed the trip I would love to go again is I could it was probably the best trip I have ever been on . My favourite part was the council Chamber I loved the part were mayor Jeff Ennis coled me councillor Redfern and I stood up and asked my question my question was are you looking forward to your next six months .

The mayors name is Jeff Ennis and he gave us a tour of the Town Hall.
We learned that the mayor sum times has to hold the second largest mace in the whole of Britain.
It was amazing!
I was nervas but was excited at the same time.The part I enjoyed the most was the Counsler Chamber. We’re he sais counsler then your second name and we asked him our questchan. I also really enjoyed seeing the mace.
It was really fun meeting the mayor of Barnsley. I enjoyed going in to the council Chamber and asking him all the questions 👍🏻😂I would never have thought I would ever meet the mayor of Barnsley.

It was fun I really enjoyed it a lot! I liked the part when we got juice and a chocolate bar. I also like the part when the Mayor (Jeff Ennis) took us to the councle chamber and called me councler White when I asked him a question. Thanks Mr Rob! I really enjoyed the trip.😊😊😊
I loved the trip it was amazing. It was a privilege to meet the Mayor Jeff Ennis. I got to wear the female mayor hat called tricone hat. We got to sit in the councillor chamber. With the microphones we got to ask a question. We got to go in the mayors office. It was magnificent. We got a blue ribbon chocolate bar and a drink!!! We looked at a lot of exspensive things like the mace. I got to hold the robes. They were so heavy but beautiful at the same time. I didn’t want ti leave!!!
