What a fantastic way to start Arts Week!
Year 3 and 4 had the chance to collaborate with Louise Wilkes on producing a piece of original dance around the theme of Hoyland and the local area.
The children developed motifs based on landmarks, people and objects. Through Louise’s vision and choreography these will be seen on Friday afternoon at the sharing of work session after school.
We also began to look at the recognisable features of our local area and produce an image to be used in a calendar for 2014. We had to think about perspective, colour and texture to effectively present the picture in a seasonal landscape.
We are all looking forward to our visit to Cannon Hall tomorrow when we will be working with an artist and local musician.
Please visit the blog tomorrow to see what we got up to on our day outside school!

I was really impressed with your calendar designs, in fact we have borrowed a few to show the y5/6’s how to do it! Miss H
