Hi year 1,
Sorry I haven’t been in touch for a while. I have been using my time machine to travel to events in the past.
I have been back to London in 1605 where Guy Fawkes was plotting to blow up the Houses of Parliament!
Then I visited Flanders Field in Belgium in 1918 where the poppies were growing on the battle fields.
I am now off on a journey back in time to 1830 to meet a man called George Stephenson, but I am not sure who he is.
Do you have any ideas?
Robyn
He was a civil engineer born a long time ago in 1781 and he built the first public inter city railway for steam locos which opened in 1830, it was the Liverpool and Manchester railway, he was known as the father of the railways and he died in 1848.
