Well the run up to Christmas has started and as ever it has been an unbelievably busy week at Hoyland Common Primary School. The manic practicing of nativities and Christmas play has begun and I am sure you will enjoy those performances next week. Monday and Tuesday saw the first parents evenings of the term and thank you for such a great turn out, pretty much every parent has been in to discuss their child’s progress so far this year. Even with the weather as crazy as it has been, attendance is still positive, this weeks attendance is 96% so let’s keep it up all the way to Christmas.
The Senior leadership team have just completed a round of observations of teaching and it showed a fantastically positive picture of the quality of teaching and learning at HCPS. Children were thoroughly engaged in their learning and lessons were fun and exciting, there were opportunities for children to be active and collaborative and children were proud of the work they were doing. There was a continued high expectation of all children no matter their ability. Well done to you all.
As you were aware the parent questionnaire went out on Wednesday and thank you for the positive response so far, once all the questionnaires are in and have been analysed, the information will be shared on the school website.
And finally, as ever the stars of the week have been chosen and as ever I am over whelmed by the range of fantastic things, again so many children have impressed with their hard work in literacy and numeracy, with lots of children this week in for brilliant writing. Improved attendance, working independently and having a fantastic attitude to learning are other reasons for this weeks stars of the week.
Thank you again for your ongoing support in all aspects of school and as ever if you do have any worries or concerns about your child’s education or any aspect of school, please do not hesitate to come and see me.
