It has been another amazing week at Hoyland Common Primary School.
The remainder of Y5 have completed their bike ability training, again “thank you” Team Active for the support during the last 2 weeks.
On Wednesday 6 members of the school council joined with school councils from right across the locality to represent the views of the children of Hoyland Common Primary School at the inaugural meeting of the Hoyland Area Youth Forum. This will be a great opportunity for the thoughts of the young people of the area to be fed back to local councillors with a view to help improve the community in which we live.
Today has seen an exciting day in school where children have been able to give their views on the wide variety of things they do in school, what they enjoy the most, what they would improve, what helps them learn and what keeps them safe. I look forward to sharing the results with you.
Yesterday was Miss Billington’s last day in school, I am sure everyone at Hoyland Common Primary School wishes Miss Billington all the best in her new role and hope she does come back from time to time and I am sure we will get comments regularly from her on the blog. The departure of Miss Billington also sees the arrival of two new members of staff. Mr Hackney and Mrs Wood will be starting next week as teaching assistants in school, I have no doubt they will fit in well and get a very warm welcome.
This week’s stars of the week have been selected for going that little step further in their learning and attitude to school, including brilliant pieces of writing, hard work in maths, completing all the spelling snails and for having a fantastic, positive attitudes in everything they do. Well done to all of you, keep up the remarkable effort.
Attendance this week has been down on previous weeks at 95.8%, I know there are lots of bugs and nasty’s doing the rounds and I am sure it will be back up to where is has been in previous weeks as soon as these have passed us by. Please do see the final outcomes of the parent’s questionnaire on the Governor blog and as ever please do not hesitate to contact me if there is anything you wish to discuss about your child’s education.

My best thing about this year is when we did the cross country because I got to represent our school.
Mr. Banham keep up with the good work of keeping the school safe and a great place to be. I love coming to school to see all my friends and do all the activities Mr. Hastey plans of us.
Also you are the best head teacher and we have lots of good teachers for
Example:. Mr Hastey . MR ROB!!! . Mrs Robinson
. And all the good teaching assistants
I hope you read this because this is how much I appreciate the school and all the staff.
