Today’s challenge was to build and label the properties of 3D shapes. We could only use straws, lollipop sticks and white tack.
We soon realised it would be impossible to build a sphere and cylinder. Can you remember why?

When I did that I failed.
I built a cube and we couldn’t do the sphere because it is round and the straws are straight. See you tomorrow Thomas
I have seen lots of 3d shapes in my house Mr Rob, there is a lot of cuboid type objects like a microwave, fridge, freezer, cupboards and cooker. I found a candle and my mums saving tin which are cylinder shapes.

We made cubes and pyramids . We could not make spheres and cylinders because the stick and straws would break.
I have made a cube with 6 vertices .

You can’t do spheres with the straws. It wouldn’t work because the straws were straight and couldn’t go round.
I have been learning about 3d shapes with Nanan,Grandad & Mummy. I have enjoyed learning about different shapes.
These are the 3d shapes I found. Cube sugar pot, cuboid microwave, cylinder flask and sphere bouncy ball.

My drawers are shaped like a cuboid.
