It has again been an amazing week of learning at Hoyland Common Primary School, the pinnacle of which being today and the HCPS Ice rink. This term pupils in foundation stage have been doing a topic about winter and linking this into the opening of the winter Olympics in Russia and today they have been trying out their skills at Ice Skating. It will also be great to see so many children trying their hand at it after school.
The school council have also arranged a fund raising day today on behalf of the British Heart Foundation, all children have come to school wearing red and various different buns, cakes and biscuits are been sold to raise money for a worthwhile cause. Thank you to the school council for their efforts and continued fund raising for such a wide variety of causes.
Attendance this week has been 95.4%, let’s hope we have now got past all the bugs and germs and are back up to those incredible levels of attendance we have seen in previous weeks.
Again we have our stars of the week, who have demonstrated that ‘little bit extra’ in their learning this week. From pushing themselves in literacy, working hard at division in maths and having a fantastic attitude towards all their learning to name but a few. Certificates will be given in Monday’s assembly.
We are always looking for more and more volunteers to support learning at Hoyland Common and are currently looking for a willing volunteer to help out to make the Hoyland Common Primary School Library even more accessible to parents and children, please do enquire if you are interested. As ever please do not hesitate to contact me or any member of staff if there is anything you wish to discuss about school or your child’s education.
