Today our science work has been all about sound. We found out how sound is made and how it travels to our ear and then to our brain. We also designed a test to prove that the further away from the sound source we are the quieter the sound we hear. We used a recording of an air raid siren and an App called ‘decibel 10th’ to help us. Can you remember what we did? How did we make sure our test was a ‘fair test’? What unit do we measure the loudness of sounds in?

When you move away from a sound it will get quieter . You’r smallest bone is called the stirup .

Well remembered Harrison! Will the actual sound get quieter or will it sound quieter the further away from it you are? We made sure our experiment was a fair test by using the computer to keep the sound level the same, when you tested it with the app you moved away from the sound.
