It has been an excellent final week of term at Hoyland Common Primary School. The finale to the term has been the Y4 residential to Sherwood Forest. Every child in Y4 spent 3 days this week at the Sherwood Forest Youth Hostel and took part in a wonderful range of activities including Orienteering, Mountain biking, ‘Bathbomb’ making, team building games, a hunt for Robin Hoods hidden treasure, a visit to Rufford Country Park and a 7 mile walk to Clumber Park! The children were absolutely fantastic and so many people commented on how they were such a credit to the school.
In school children as ever were selected for stars of the week for a great range of reasons, including putting 100% effort in to science activities, having a ‘fab’ attitude to learning and many more, well done to you all and keep up the hard work. The teachers in school have also had a little challenge that was set for them using their poundland item as a teaching tool for a bit of fun, children really enjoyed the activities they did with them from litter pickers, to skittles sets and fishing rods!
It has been a fantastic term at Hoyland Common Primary School and all children have shown just how much effort they put into their learning with attendance for this term has being 96.6%, well done and let’s try and get it over 97% next term. The final term of the school year well see the Y2 and Y6 children complete their SATs and Y1 children their phonics test and am sure we will wish them all the best of luck!
So a big thank you to everyone for your continued support this term, have a great Easter break and see you in 2 weeks time.
