I have had a lovely day celebrating World Book Day with you all. There were some truly amazing costumes today and it was great to see how much effort you put into your outfits. It was great to have time to discuss our favourite books and to share recommendations. I was really happy to see how eager you all were to have time to relax and enjoy reading throughout the day.
We did some work on a book called ‘The Tear Thief’ by Carol-Ann Duffy. We shared the book together and then discussed why a tear thief is needed. Then we designed our own thieves.
What sort of thief did you design? Why do you think this sort of thief is needed? How do their powers work?

I almost bought Hunger Games on Saturday, I decided on the Game of Thrones set instead. My daughter and son are reading them first though!
I like your thief idea, I’ve thought about this for a few minutes and I think I would be The Hunger Thief, (idea from your favourite book’s title). Hunger causes a lot of grief and pain worldwide and it’s not necessary.
