Well another week has gone by in a blur of fantastic learning, lot of achievements and some wonderful successes!
Year 5 and 6 continue with their topic “Witchcraft and Wizardry” and the enthusiasm is palpable, with children engaged and animated. The icing on this week’s cake was the letter home about the topic visit in March to Warner Bros Studio “Harry Potter World”! I don’t think I have ever seen as much excitement surrounding a school trip!
Year 3 and 4 took their mission to the next level by visiting the Space Centre in Leicester last Friday and again they all showed a real interest in their learning, enhancing what they had been taught in class and furthering their knowledge. They also had the opportunity to witness a possible once in a lifetime event, the British astronaut, Tim Peake’s spacewalk.
We were once again lucky enough to welcome Mrs Hewitt into Foundation Stage this week as she continues to take some wonderful photos for a new book based around Maths. Watch this space for further information.
Stars of the week were chosen for an array of reasons this week, namely around their willingness to learn, amazing efforts in literacy, maths and phonics, understanding their behaviours and one little lady for being extremely kind and helpful to her peers. It really is a joy to see the hard working resilient children we have here at HCPS.
Attendance this week has 96.8%, above school target but slightly lower than last week. Let’s continue with this positive start to the new year.
As ever if there is anything you wish to discuss with either myself, or a member of the HCPS team, please do not hesitate to contact us.
