This week has seen another great week of learning at HCPS and lots of activities going off in and around school.
The Year 3 & 4s had their final class trip to the Barnsley Experience to look at the history of the coop and then next week they will be walking into Hoyland Centre to gather more evidence and information about the local shops in the area.
Year 1 had their inaugural school trip to Bolsover Castle in Derbyshire, exploring the grounds and the buildings to then be able to link back to their topic “Castles and Dragons!”
Stars of the week were chosen for this week for many amazing different reasons – fantastic effort in class discussion, improving Maths, being superstars on their school trips, giving 100% to everything and going above and beyond in their work with the School Community – a huge well done to you all and I hope you enjoyed dining with Mrs Davies this week.
In other news we have hosted a number of courses this week for other teachers within the Barnsley area on behalf of our teaching school. Over 40 teachers have visited school this week and have been very impressed with the children at HCPS. We have also today hosted a netball tournament for a number of schools within the locality – and I’ll keep you posted to which school won in next week’s blog.
Attendance this week was 95.7% – under school target, and we have also had 17 late marks this week so please ensure that you are at school for the 08.50am start.
And as ever, should you have any issues or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me or a member of the HCPS team.
