Today we were all evacuated to Cannon Hall. While we were there we had to use our rations to prepare our own lunch, we saw the old coal range, there was no gas or electric cooker to use!

We had to help ‘dig for victory’ in the hall gardens. In the war people had to grow as many vegetables as they could so that they wouldn’t be hungry!

We also played old fashioned games such as hop scotch, tiddly winks and board games.

We had the chance to look around the museum and see the medals and uniforms from the war.
