It was an incredibly busy week last week at Hoyland Common Primary School with the main focus being on the Y6 pupils who took their Y6 SATs in Reading, Grammar and Punctuation, Spelling and Maths. The Y6 pupils where an absolute credit to the school. They all put 100% effort in to every test they did, never faltering or giving up! Their resilience and hard work over the last few years has really paid off and I am sure they will get the outcomes they deserve when we find out the results at the beginning of July. Well done to you all.

The Y2 pupils also completed their KS1 writing tests and it was great to hear just how fantastic they did on those, again a huge well done to them for the effort they put in.

Stars of the week were selected as ever for a wide range of reasons, including excellent efforts in spelling and writing, hard work in numeracy, having an excellent attitude to learning and for trying their hardest during SATs. Well done to you all and thank you to the rest of school for supporting the year sixes during SATs week.

Attendance was again positive at 97%, let’s try and keep attendance as high as possible all the way up to the summer. We have some great events coming up including Arts Week in the first week back after Spring Bank Holiday, KS2 sports day at the institute of sport, KS1 sports day, Y6 bike rides and the Y5/6 end of year show to name but a few!

As ever if there is anything you wish to discuss about your pupils education please do not hesitate to speak to myself or any other member of staff.
