It has been another busy week at HCPS and today is possibly the busiest day of them all!
This afternoon sees our Y5/6 pupils taking part in a Tag rugby tournament at Birdwell School and this afternoon we have the Performing Arts and Drama Service coming into showcase some of the wonderful musicians across the borough.
Yesterday was world book day as I am sure you are all aware and it was great to see such enthusiasm around books and the huge array of larger than life characters that arrived at school.
Coming up next week is Comic Relief Day on Friday 13th March and there will be a whole host of activities going off during the day which will also be non-uniform (for a donation to the Comic Relief Fund) and we are looking forward to seeing the ‘make your face funny to raise money!’ efforts.
This week’s stars of the week have been selected for ‘being proud of who they are, our school and our community’. So many children have demonstrated pride in a huge variety of things this week, from handwriting, to maths, even world book day costumes and being proud of representing the school at sporting events. It has been wonderful to see over the past few weeks children really embracing the new school rules.
Coming up in just over a week’s time is parents evening, it is not too late to make an appointment, please do see your child’s class teacher if you still wish to book one. This week’s attendance has dropped slightly to 95.8% from last week’s fantastic percentage, again Monday and Friday’s attendance had not been as good as other days of the week.
As ever if there is anything you wish to discuss about your child’s education please do not hesitate to contact me or one of the HCPS team and don’t forget to blog any sporting activities over the weekend!
