It has been another exciting week at Hoyland Common Primary School. The highlight of the week was undoubtedly the Arts Award Showcase, where all the pupils in Y5/6 shared some of the brilliant work they have been doing in the ‘Arts’ to meet the requirements to get their arts award. Over one hundred family members came along to see what was involved and thoroughly enjoyed the event.
In KS1 we saw the start of the open reading sessions for parents and children to spend some quality time reading in school. Thank you again to so many of you for attending it was definitely a resounding success and I am sure it will continue to be so.
This week’s stars of the week have been selected for, as always a wide variety of reasons. These included having a fantastic attitude to all areas of learning, developing an excellent story plan, some brilliant sensory writing, for great progress in catch up and for making an amazing superhero comic strip! Well done to you all and enjoy your dining with the stars experience!
Attendance this week has been 96.3% – let’s try to keep that attendance as high as possible, in the news again recently it has stated that children whose attendance at school is high achieve better than their peers, so let’s make sure this happens.
As ever if there is anything you wish to discuss about your child’s education please do not hesitate to contact me or your child’s class teacher.
