It has been a crazy but fantastic week at Hoyland Common Primary School this week, as I am sure you are aware by now it is Arts week. Children have taken part in a wide range of activities under the umbrella of the arts, including dance, drama, singing, art and design, painting, green screening, baking and much more.

The children independently chose throughout the week what activities to do and worked with children from all other year groups. It is fantastic to see how well the children of different ages have worked together and learnt from each other. One of the final visits of the week was for a group of children to visit the Apple Store in Meadowhall and do an IT workshop using Garage Band!

Attendance this week has dropped to the lowest this year at 93.4%, I know it is the holiday season but let’s work together for the last 6 weeks of term. In other news the school has recruited new staff this week for September and you will be informed in the next few week which class your child will be in next year.

As ever please do not hesitate to contact me or any of the HCPS team if you wish to discuss anything about your child’s education. Finally a huge thanks to all the staff at HCPS this week for all their efforts at making arts week such a success, I know the children have thoroughly enjoyed it and hope you enjoyed the show case.
