Welcome back and I hope you had an enjoyable half term. We have really hit the ground running at Hoyland Common this week and it has been a busy week as ever. The Fire Service have been in to speak about fire safety with years 2 and 4 and the children in foundation stage really enjoyed their bonfire party.
Jason Wilsher-Mills has been in school working with all year groups to do some digital art with some fantastic outcomes. Just a reminder too that Martial Art Club starts next week and there are a few places still available, please contact the office for more information.
It was great today to be able to present Louis Bailey with his prize and picture of his winning stamp in the Royal Mail Christmas Stamp Competition. Well done Louis!
Once again attendance is very high at 97.5% with both Mr Robinson’s and Mr Fallon’s class getting 100% attendance. This weeks “stars of the week” have been awarded to children for having fantastic attitudes towards learning, for excellent manners, amazing homework, great work in maths, writing and reading!
Finally it is assessment week in school next week, a very important week in the school year to help us ensure that children are attaining well and make good progress, so please help us in continuing the high attendance. As ever if you have anything that you wish to discuss about your child’s education please do not hesitate to contact me.
