What another amazing week at Hoyland Common Primary School, it has been great going round individual classes this week and seeing first hand some of the fantastic learning that is going on.
The week has also included the Y6 visit to Crucial Crew, where they children took part in a whole host of activities that will help keep themselves safe and out of danger. Today the Y5/6 football team take on West Meadows Primary and last week, the Y3/4 team, in driving rain played out for a draw. Well done to all who took part.
The stars of the week this week have again been selected for going that extra mile. This week’s stars of the week have been selected for reasons such as a creating a leaflet made at home about the work being done in school! For a positive attitude towards school and learning, for a brilliant piece of homework, for being a brilliant role model and for improved confidence to name but a few. Hope you all enjoyed dining with the stars!
This month has been attendance awareness month and there has been a real push on making sure attendance at school is as high as possible. The attendance in school during the month to date is a fantastic 97.8% and it is 97.6% this week, what a fantastic effort and thank you to everyone. During the month of December we are running attendance advert, with prizes galore for those attending for full weeks.
Don’t forget it is parents evening on the 8th and 9th of December, slips will be coming out confirming appointments at the beginning of next week.
Also it is the School Christmas Fair on the 4th December and I am looking forward to seeing you there!
As ever if there is anything you wish to discuss about your child, please do not hesitate to contact a member of the HCPS team.
