Today we have been making our Christingles ready for Wednesday when Canon Hale from Tankersley church is coming to school to do our Christingle service. We found out all about the meaning of the different parts of the Christingle. Can you remember what each part represented?
The orange is the world,
The red ribbon is christs blud
The sweets represent the seesens
The candel is Jesus and the light of the world.
Dear Y2 class,
I was looking on your school blog last night and I saw the wonderful Christingles you have made.
At the church we have lots of children who attend Sunday School and I know that they would really enjoy making Christingles just like yours!
After seeing how good your Christingles are, and how much fun you had making them, I want to ask you an important question…
Can you write the instructions to make a Christingle just like yours? It would be really helpful for the children at Sunday school to follow your instructions to make their own Christingle.
I really hope you can help, I look forward to seeing you at School on Wednesday. Perhaps I could collect the instructions then?

I know the orange represents our world and the red ribbon stands for god’s blood. The candle represents our light and the sweets stand for god,s gifts. Finally the cocktail stick stands for south,north,west,east plus Spring Summer Autumn Winter.

This is what we did:
First we sorted out the photographs of how to make the Christingle so we knew the correct order.
After that we wrote the title which was ‘How to make a Christingle’
Next we stuck the photos on our sheet.
Then we wrote short sentences telling you how to make the Christingle, they needed to be clear.
Finally we checked our instructions to make sure they made sense!
Canon Hale came into school today to do our Christingle service. He said our instructions were amazing and he would use them in Sunday school.

hello mrs harrison when we made the chris chringles i was always staring into them sweets hahaha because i love sweets the blood represents when jesus died on easter it was very sad because he was the good baby we always remember god and jesus and joesph and mary we all share good things to god because he is always helpful.
it was fun when we did that because we had a great time and enjoyed it
