It has been another busy week at Hoyland Common Primary School and learning continues to be more and more fun. Year 1 and 2 Pupils have enjoyed their ‘being healthy and fit’ sessions with Freddie Fit whilst KS2 have continued their preparations for the ‘Even coal shimmers’ project choreographing dance routines with Louise Wilkie. Y3/4 Pupils are practicing hard and moving towards their Fencing awards. We are now only 4 school days away from KS2 SATs and the children have thoroughly impressed me how they tackled their mock tests on Thursday.

The stars of the week were selected for a variety of fantastic reasons, including amazing efforts and improvements in writing, showing resilience in maths, making a wonderful effort in all learning and also been helpful at break times. Well done to you all, enjoy dining with the stars.

Attendance this week has had a few great days, with 2 days in the 98%, unsurprisingly Mondays and Friday’s attendances were not as good and I am sure you will support your child’s education by not falling in to the temptation of tagging Mondays and Fridays onto the weekends as it does have such a detrimental effect on children’s educations. The overall attendance for the week was 97.1%
