Good afternoon and thank you to all for another fantastic week of learning at Hoyland Common Primary.
I have been really impressed with our storytellers in FS week – I love how the FS2 classes have used ‘Talk for Writing’ to retell the story of ‘The Enormous Turnip’. We have also had some fantastic writers in Y1, who have made some super descriptions of the Iron Man.
Both Key Stage One and Foundation Stage have enjoyed the challenge of keeping up with ‘Freddie Fit’ this week – I can’t remember the last time I saw so many red faces!
In Y3/4, I have been so impressed with pupils’ understanding of the Great War poets – I am looking forward to some powerful performances in the upcoming Easter production.
I have been inundated this week with Y5/6 pupils who have blown me away with their descriptive eye witness acoounts of the Titanic’s sinking!
I hope everyone is looking forward to nexs Friday’s events for Comic Relief – thank you to the School Council for coordinating this year’s fundraising! We are also looking forward to having ‘Google’ come in to our classrooms next Friday, where children will get the opportunity to explore the very latest in virtual reality.
A huge well done to all our stars once again. This week, they have been selected for their descriptive writing; excellent effort and attitude; fantastic work in school and at home; and for helping others. Congratulations!
Mr F 🙂
