Last week some of the school governors were tasked with conducting an audit of the school vision:-
‘Developing confident, happy self motivated learners who enjoy learning and see it as a lifelong adventure’
We were pleasantly surprised as to how much evidence there was to select from across the school. We witnessed some excellent learning from all year groups and some inspiring ways of how childrens successes are celebrated and shared. The most impressive was the motivational and aspiring language that is consistently used within school to inspire children to enjoy their learning. There was a wealth of information on display within school of community links and support for worthwhile causes together with celebrations of pupils achievements. It is perhaps not until you know what you are looking for that you really see the detail of what’s in front of you. I have walked through school on many occasions and failed to notice much of what was seen during the audit. The exercise was to help school staff see with a ‘fresh pair of eyes’ what they too can often take for granted because they know it so well. The findings and suggestions will be shared at the governing body however, given the amount of positive evidence that was collected I wanted to share with you the knowledge that the vision was clearly seen throughout the visit.

Mrs Harrison
A big thanks to the Governors involved in this. It was a really productive and enjoyable morning. As you said Kerri it was great to have fresh pairs of eyes.
